I respect what the writers were trying to achieve here I really do but let us be totally honest here....Legend of Tarzan is a 30 minute movie overall. The film is full mostly of the same back story we have seen so many times before. The film felt dragged out beyond what it needed to be and I would have like to see more of the present day scenes with Tarzan. Most redeeming moments came from good old Samuel L. Jackson, but what films isn't improved with him?
And now I await your anger and old fruit and veg. Maybe a few pitch forks and torches. I hated the Shallows, there was nothing new or exciting in this film and the apparent tension was mediocre at best. You spend most of the film getting a face full of slow motion shots of Blake Lively doing up her surfing gear....and taking it off again...and shots of the arse. This was way over done. Again no tension, the awful CGI when the Shark meets its end was laugh out funny (for all the wrong reasons) and to be honest I didn't care at all about our lead lady. Sorry fellow horror fans but this one didn't cut it for me.
Why must Hollywood remake films that just don't need to be remade. The original Martyrs is one of the best works of cinema in the horror genre, unfortunate this isn't the case for the US remake. Martyrs (Remake) is just an unwanted waste of time and effort. It's an okay watch at best and is in no way near as good as the original.
Independence Day: Resurgence is a prime example of why some films shouldn't get a sequel so many years later. What had the potential of being a top follow up to the amazing original just fell flat. It misses the Will Smith addition to be honest but I don't blame him if I'm totally honest. The acting was awful, the story was garbage and the only redeeming feature was Jeff Goldblum. Some may enjoy but alas not me.
I hated this film with a passion. The scenes showing sexual pleasure while a girl is slashing her wrists and the overall tone just puts it right on the trash heap for me. This could of worked so well! The whole subject of bullying a revenge has worked so perfectly in the past in films such as Carrie, but Some Kind of Hate lacks the story and relies on the violent final stages to bring it back from the brink of shit.
I have lost how many films have tried the 80's homage over the years, and people like Ti West have done a mighty good job (You must see House of The Devil if you have not seen it yet!) but alas Lost After dark is a pile of crap. It just really didn't do it for me, it felt cheap, nasty (the bad kind) and I spent more energy checking how long the film had left. A film just packed to the nines with the worst of the 80's cliches out there, with awful acting and even worse direction.
Some horror fans have told me they love this film, and many had waited a very long time to catch this. I heard so many good things about this film as well, and I was actually pretty excited to see it. Baskin bored me, and I can sit through some utter shit. I reminds me of how I felt watching the Polish horror film Demon but at least Demon's story made some kind of sense. The story is as paper thin and as a whole I didn't have a bloody clue what they hell was going on. This is an arthouse style film I know for sure many horror fans will love, but I found it a jumbled mess
I love the Ice Age series, I really do. I have cut them so much slack over the years but even they have scrapped the barrel for this one. The story was awful, and for the first time I found none of the characters funny in the slightest. All the Scrat scenes made it even worse! This was a waste of an afternoon and the second worst animated film of the year...the other is yet to come.
This has been at number one on my worst list since me and my wife had the displeasure of seeing this pile of shit covered trash. Bad Moms is the worst comedy I have seen in a VERY long time. Kunis puts in a dull UN-entertaining performance along side a cast of typecast women actors who just really didn't deserve to be in the film. Fire your agents! They have tried to replicate the same hilarity we had in Bridesmaids but the writers and directors behind this dumpster fire just couldn't do it here.
Worst animated film I have ever seen. Seriously and I have seen some SHOCKING animated films in my time. Who ever thought Jack Whitehall would make a good voice for Asterix needs to get their ears checked. This was such a shame, I love the original cartoons and this was not even in the same league. Also a slight complaint, if you release a UK version of a film meant for a foreign audience (which is made obvious from the obviously lack of lip sync) then please, please, PLEASE put the first language on the disk. Skip this train wreck film fans.
