Based on this I have stretched the boundaries a bit whilst compiling my top ten, so here we go:
What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good shark movie and this film didn't disappoint. The CGI was so realistic, which always help to keep you in the zone and the movie moved at a terrific pace - the ending was a bit far fetched but awesome at the same time.
You can't guarantee that a movie will be good but throw James Wan in the directors chair and your half way there. I loved the Conjuring 2, everything from the old English setting to the spooky crooked man song. This is my kinda horror movie man.
I actually put off watching this movie for a long time, I'm not a great fan of claustrophobic movies but after reading some awesome reviews I gave it a bash and boy was I impressed, the scene with the acid spill was an absolute win for me.
What is it about Mel Gibson and is ability to completely pull it out of the bag when you think is career is done? Blood Father is a violent Mexican gangster film that mixes all the right ingredients to a bloody great time, it's worth seeing just for Mel Gibson's action hero.
I caught this film at the Frightfest Halloween all day event, I knew nothing about it and sometimes that's the best way to approach a movie, Fear Inc is the horror version of Fincher's The Game and it is a horror fans wet dream with all the Easter eggs it throws at you.
I can't stop recommending this movie to my friends, I know most of them will pass it off as a kids movie and not give it the time but for those who do, they are in for a treat - it's like Kill Bill for kids.
Star Wars - enough said.
I loved Jon Favreau's version of Rudyard Kiplings’ classic story, perfect mix of action and drama for the whole family to enjoy.
It's amazing how the movie studios can keep churning out these Marvel movies with such quality, I feel really invested in these characters and I actually care about them, silly I know but I've been team marvel since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. Usually a film as good as this would be number 1 on my list but it has just been pipped by the winner which is....
Absolutely breathtaking movie that needs to be seen to be believed, it is heavy on both the emotional and horror aspect and will stay with you a long time after you have seen it.
