In between some of the imaginatively put together gore the author also includes a dark sense of humour that had me laughing out loud in front of people like a crazy person.
I love that it wasn’t a straight forward gore fest, there was a lot of backstory and we got to really know some characters and their past sins. I also loved the way the author portrayed the town like he’d really lived there all his life and knew all the good and especially bad places. If you ever went to an old school drive-in you will be having flashbacks whilst reading this.
Be prepared because once you get past the half way mark in this book there is no stopping until it’s done.
If you’re looking for a book that pretty much includes everything from humour to thriller to horror this is the book for you.
